DvG (minus HW) went to Dbl O to celebrate KS's 21st birthday. This place certainly brings back memories... Back to the main story, i realised i wasnt really a clubber. In fact, i enjoyed myself at the cosy chill out section whereby a live band rap out their songs that are really fabulous. Though the female singer's voice sounded like a frog as commented by Mr. AL, it's still nice i think. After KS went home, AL and i went to a Boat Quay pub to watch Liverpool vs Chelsea match. As the match is screened, there is another simultaneous 'live' show going on. Right in front of us, a teenage caucasian couple was literally making out in front of us. The worse thing was they were facing us. Haha.. Glad i wasnt sucked into looking at them. Yesterday night i witnessed loads of kissing and touching at the club and pub. All i can say is 'WOW!' After the match ended we took the first bus home and i expectedly knocked out on the bus... Lucky i never missed my stop.

Stay Positive!
I told myself to stay positive just before my driving lesson yesterday. I think i wasn't in the proper condition to drive ( hit the kerb while doing the directional change in circuit ) . Also, my car overshot the first pedestrain line at the traffic junction on the road. Despite all these, i have managed to be as cool as cucumber to focus on my driving. But something i am proud of is that i have checked all my blindspots. Haha, i have just got to stay positive till my big day comes...
Ps : Don't give up that easily bro.. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

Boring weekend without EPL matches
As this weekend unfolds, i look at the Newpaper sports section. Aaaah, boring international matches. I think i am more of an EPL follower than a country's. Since i was born i have never paid close attention of any sorts to international football. If you tell me England got thrashed 5-1, it's fine with me. But if it's Arsenal getting thrashed instead, then i will be affected alot. I guess passion for Arsenal never wavers one bit till now. Haha... Likewise what Man U is to HW, Spurs is to KS and Liverpool is to AL. We are simply a bunch of soccer fanatics.
I can still vividly remember during secondary school days during breaks we would play soccer at the netball court behind the canteen. We would all return to our class wet all over with sweats dripping from our forehead. Our teacher would then look at us in disgust. After school, we simply let loose. Volley ball court here we come! From 2pm to 6pm, it was all soccer, soccer and more soccer. While others would have gone home to mug in the pile of books, we were still sweating out in the court. When the test/exam was on the next day, we were still running about at the soccer court just outside the old folk's home. Even during relationships and NS commitments, soccer has kept our bonds stronger then ever.
No matter how busy we were we still made time for it. Last weekend HW played in the morning and had to work in the noon. The rest of us were just wondering how he could have sustained the whole day! Tomorrow AL is gonna join us after his morning driving lesson and KS after visit to the temple. This is why DVG is still going strong today.

DMC

This movie is hell'a of fun! I really liked the confusing part between Sir Krauser( the lead male singer of DMC) and Soichi Negishi( his real self) while he met the person he had a crush on. Simply hilarious! Not mentioning other tear-jerking moments in the movie, i say it's worth the money and time. By the way the lead character himself is also detective L from Death Note. You gotta check this movie out!
Please scroll all the way down for the trailer of DMC...

Liverpool 5, Aston Villa 0...
Congrats AL. Yes, the scoreline is never like expected when i looked up the match score just now. With Liverpool just one point behing Man u, the title race is looking increasingly exciting. The intense excitement starts now....

Wah... Shag ah!
I just reached home from Vivo. Had lunch with DVG. Played some energy sapping soccer this morning. Slept at 4am yesterday after the newcastle vs arsenal soccer match. This is just the summary of events which took the wind out of me. I had planned to catch a movie with my buddies but i guess i would have slept throughout the whole movie instead.
Man, this is tiring stuff. When i alighted from the bus 30 after lunch, it seemed like eternity to climb up the mountain of stairs across the bridge. The moment i reached home i just wanted to sleep. But here i am blogging in my half conscious state of mind, spaced out staring at the computer. I never regretted staying up late at 1.30am to watch the arsenal match because we won 3-1:D C'mon liverpool! Go and beat aston villa tonight...

Pissed off at work...zzz
Sometimes i cant just stand people taking someone's kindness as their weakness. Some selfish person who only wants the job done at the expense of others. Like stapling some hundreds of sheets of paper together while the person just lie flat on the table waiting for the job to be finished. I really have doubts helping this person now. If it was not out of pity, i would not have helped. I wonder how this person actually spends the whole day doing nothing or rather doing nothing much ( photocopying of papers and typing words only) can complain of fatiqueness. It even makes no sense that this person needs me to help her with the shit. Sometimes i wish to tell this person in the face to ' stop potraying a goody image in front of everyone. In due time, your true self will be exposed and people will know what a person you are. '
Aaaahh... i am really itching to kick some ball... i hope to be able to do that this weekend:) Cheers!

My workplace...
After working for more than 1 month at Kingston International School, i have decided to talk more about it. During this period, i have taught 3 students. One is a fifteen year old boy from Taiwan while the other two are both chinese national female adults. The former, who i had stopped tutoring, was at times acting too girlish but nonetheless a cheerful personality at the school. The latter, who i am now still tutoring them simple conversational English from my first day, have been quite cooperative to say the least.
Not to mention the miserable pay of 600 bucks i am drawing now, i have enjoyed teaching the 2 adults. One of them, her attitude is spot on and after each lesson, she would go home and spend hours revising on what was taught. It's really heartening to know that how hard your student is working hard to improve her English, how serious she is in for the lesson and the effort she puts in. The other, who is not as good as her, i think she needs more time but she is improving too.
Connie's Farewell
I had come to know this lady who is a mother of three. Her name is Connie. She incidentally stepped in her post at Kingston on feb 9th, same as mine. For twice she has treated me to barley drink at the coffee shop, saying that she is working but i am not. Haha, so cute lah. Even when i tried treating her back she insisted we go dutch. Then on her last working day, she even gave me a perfume as present which i really appreciated. Thanks Connie and i wish you all the best in everything you do:)
I know this is going to be a loooong post but i am still gonna blog about this... That is LIVERPOOL 4 MAN U 1! Yes, though the scoreline is impressive, nothing beats the fantastic 4 spending time together watching soccer matches. Yesterday was a roller-coaster night of emotions.
Before the match HW was saying' Aiya, MAN U sure win one la. Homeground somemore...' .
After Ronaldo scored from penalty, HW had grown more in confidence that MAN U would win the match.
Soon later, after Torres equalised through some horrid defending by world player of the year nominee Vidic and some sublime finishing from the Spaniard himself, HW shook his head in disbelieve while AL stood up and celebrated. 1-0 to Liverpool.
At, 1-2,a silly foul by Vidic on Gerrard warranted the former the marching orders and HW was incensed. MAN U were reduced to 10 man... Their collapse started right from here and i shall not say any further.
Though it's 4-1 to Liverpool, the victory still goes to the Fantastic 4. Forever will the power of four remain strong as ever. Cheers!

Quiz about myself...
1)Your view on yourself:You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.
2)The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.
3)Your readiness to commit to a relationship:You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.
4)The seriousness of your love:Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.
5)Your views on education:Education is less important than the real world out there, away from the classroom. Deep inside you want to start working, earning money and living on your own.
6)The right job for you:You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.
7)How do you view success:Success in your career is not the most important thing in life. You are content with what you have and think that being with someone you love is more than spending all of your precious time just working.
8)What are you most afraid of:You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.
9)Who is your true self:You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.
Mmm.. Personally i think numbers 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 9 somehow describe who the person i am. But i would like to get plenty of dates as stated in number 4. Hahaha!

Infuriated!
I just can't stand some hypocrites nowadays. Especially when i see them doing something hurtful to my close friends and even worse, stepping on my tail. I think since the dawn of time i have been someone who steers out of trouble and clashes. But today something happened which really tested my patience and i simply exploded...
My group of friends and i were playing soccer at my house's soccer court. We were matched up against a group of malay cum chinese opponents. At one instant, AL was having the ball and breaking down the middle of the court when one of the opponent suddenly kicked and sandwiched him during the process. He, the chinese *ucker had feign ignorance and instead pushed the blame over to his Malay counterpart. At one stage, he even had the audacity to wink to his friends signifying what he did was intentional. What integrity... He's a disgrace to the Chinese. As if it was not enough, while he and i was challenging for the same ball, he just stepped his leg onto my kneecap. I tolerated. But he continued to play like he did a moment ago and i simply have had enough of his antics. I squared up to him and asked him in Chinese why he had kicked my leg and he replied that i had kicked him too earlier. This made me even more provoked and i immediately waved away his reply while turning my back away from him. HW tried to calm things down and told me to relax. The next moment the guy came up to me and shook my hands as if he wanted to patch things up. I think he had no balls. In the end i returned the handshake in reluctance and concentrated on my game. Now my kneecap hurts and it's swollen. If he is playing against us the next time i make sure he will have a torrid time.
I won't tolerate such nonsense in the future anymore...

Driving...
Driving is really not easy as i found out since my first lesson. Sometimes while focusing too much on the road, the in car techniques - changing of gears and steering are compromised and vice versa. I think i haven't been driving safely enough on road to the extent that with this kind of lousy standard i will certainly not get through my pratical test in April. Within this limited period of time i must improve, improve and improve...
And i believe i can...

What a fun filled day!
Kok, Al and i met up at Marina Square after my work. Though it was already late afternoon, we still managed to enjoy ourselves thoroughly! Kok suggested watching a movie while AL suggested bowling. In the end we had neither because we eventually agreed on the thing i suggested- arcade! Wahaha... We basically fought our soccer skills on the Virtua Striker 4 playing machine and it was really intensifying as we took turns to knock each other out of the game. I think it's very exciting for a 50 cents worth per game.
Afterwhich we had heart to heart talks regarding relationships. It was the first time the three of us would actually chat about this kinda thing. Hey i am not stereotyping here but normally only the girls do it lah. But the experience and the after feelings at the end of our conversations are simply as good. Perspectives shared about relationships and what we have been through not only enable us to get to know each other better but also help me to deal with relationships more effectively. Personally i think break-ups need to be clean instead of letting it hanging in the air with strings attached. The feeling sucks..
Right now, i rank relationship on par with my close friends. In the past i think i have been spending too much time on my ex-girlfriend, neglecting my clique as a result. Sometimes i think i have given in too much to love, tiring myself out and changing myself to fit the bill for an ideal boyfriend. It's time i think for myself, pursue what i want for my future and finding someone who really suits me. One who can share the same thinking in our relationship and give me the support when i need it. I think i will really appreciate that more than anything like gifts or whatsoever. Though now i believe there is no fairy tale ending in love, as long as both parties are will to work hard for it, i think there will be nothing too hard to overcome. Think Tony Leung and his wife Carina Lau. Tony Leung had said in an interview that he and his wife have totally contrasting personalities but they have managed to keep the relationship going strong for twenty plus years already. I was so impressed when i heard about it. I tell myself there is nothing too hard to overcome if we work towards one common goal. Be it now or the future i will still stand by this... :)

Valentine's Day...
It's been really funny i realised. Throughout my 2 years relationship i have never spent a single Valentine's Day with my ex-girlfriend. Though it was quite a disappointment, at the same time i look forward to the coming one next year. Hopefully i can find someone to spend it with man:) Hahaha... So, for this year's Valentine's Day i spent it with my 2 buddies instead. Sounds very gay huh? But who says we cannot spend it with guys! Anyway we had a really fun time out there. Sang Karaoke at Clementi Community Centre from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. Just 10 bucks each only... damn cheap.
Today feb 15th, DVG played soccer without QM( had stuff to settle for his tour), HZ( a sleepy pig who can't wake up despite HW calling him several times) and David( had flew to Australia for studies a few days ago. Hope he enjoys himself there!). It was a very early kick off for us from 8.30am to 11.30am. I felt fatigue all over my body and never had this for quite some time. I simply 'died' on my bed lah when i got home. Later gonna go for one of my secondary school classmate's 21st birthday party at SMU cafe. It's still a long day ahead!

ANDREI ARSHAVIN

"He’s quick, he’s sharp, he reads the game very well. Technically he’s very good, he is diminutive, but he is top, top class." - Jonathan Wilson, an expert on Eastern European football and author of 'Behind the Curtain: Travels in Eastern European Football'.
"Andrei Arshavin is a player I have admired for a long time. He is a versatile player with great experience, who will add real quality to our squad. Andrei is an exciting impact player with a huge amount of ability and has been an influential force with both Zenit St Petersburg and the Russian national team in recent seasons." - Arsenal manager
WOOHOO~ Yes he is finally an arsenal player now! Let's hope he will bring something additional to the team:D

A Suuumptuous Meal On My 21st
Snow crabs, ginseng porridge, salmon sashimi,....etc etc. I really had an enjoyable time eating at Kuishinbo with kenny and karen. I would probably not enjoy as much if i were to really treat them this time as they had heavily subsidised it for me. Treat them next time ba.... Hahaha. Thanks alot mates for making the dinner possible:)
Oh yes, i finally got the last piece of my jigsaw - a brown bedsheet from Aussino to go with my purple quilt and pillow case i had bought a couple of days ago at Ikea. Yesterday's outing with hw was rather fruitful. Swimming, job interviewing, watching movie( Ong Bak 2, basically the story ending is crap) and catching up with one another all into one day! The possibility of treat my 3 khakis on Sat to GV Goldclass is now officially ruled out. Hw and i had checked at the vivo cinema that it cost 36 bucks per pax just to watch the movie and rest on the comfortable seat. We have to pay at least an additional 29 more bucks per pax to get a drink, a main course and dessert. Crazyyyyy!!!!!
But the best reward out of yesterday's trip is i bought the '三国演义' novel which i can take my time to read and appreciate. I think i took about 2 plus hours to just read 3 chapters yesterday! Haha!

Damn screwed up!
It's all about today's work man! Firstly a customer pointed to me the cold kailan dish from the menu afterwhich she said that she did not know the kailan is covered with blended ice. In the end it became my fault in not telling her it's a cold dish and we had to change a fried one for her. As if it was not bad enough, some time after another customer ordered a roti prata with curry dish and when she asked me whether the curry had chicken in it i said '有一点' . It was a rather ambiguous reply from me due to my uncertainty. I somehow regretted saying so as the customer flared up when she did not see any chicken in the curry. I was given a earful by my manager and rightly so for not asking around for help when uncertain. Now i am sure that prata curry has no chicken in it!
This incident aside, yesterday morning i went to Bukit Batok Driving Centre and cleared my final theory evaluation. Now i am ready for the final theory test which will be on 29th jan. I think i will need to put in more effort for the test man because i never really study much before the evaluation:P In the afternoon i met up with kok and al for a swimming session at kok uncle's house. The best part was that we managed to catch RED CLIFF 2!!!! SHIOK MAN!! The 2 hour plus movie at Lido was not a letdown in anyway only perhaps for the baby-ish voice of lin chiling. She sounded irritating at times but i was again impressed by the wits of 诸葛亮 and 周瑜. The exchange between them was intriguing at times especially their conversations. I really like Romance Of The Three Kingdoms and would hope to read the novel one day:)

Waiting for the right opportunity..
After working at Xin Wang cafe for close to a month, i think it was a wise and definitely a better decision to switch to part-time job. At least that was what my colleagues told me. 6 days work week with midnight shifts and no additional pay for a full-timer is a big no no. On top of that my supervisor just screwed up my Off which i requested to take this coming thursday and somehow became yesterday monday. Luckily i have not booked my theory practice yet as i prefer to see the confirmed schedule for the week before doing so. Mmm... now that i have gotten a taste to working in the F&B industry, a part of me tells me to find a better job while the current job will serve as a back-up.
Alright, that's for the job portion. Yesterday i managed to catch 赤壁 part 1 movie which i rented from Video-ezy. When i asked the person at the counter about the availability of the movie, i was like 'Woooo~' . The movie dvd i have been so eager to rent is finally in my hands! All the hype about the movie is not that exaggerating as i was fully impressed by the '八卦阵' 诸葛亮 devised and the battle scene for it too. That i think is the highlight of the movie man. I believe alot of effort is made to make the formation look that good on camera. How i wish the director had spent more time on the crafting of the individual characters like '关羽' and '张飞'. I just felt that they were a bit overlooked in this movie. But come to think of it, the movie already 2 hrs 15mins long will surely be stretched to 3 plus hours if the director did that. Now i can't wait for the part 2 of the movie to come out which is slated for a 22nd or 23rd January release.
Haha... i really can't wait...
